A seroma is a collection of fluid (lymphatic fluid) within the areas liposuction occurred. It is not a serious complication, it is very common after liposuction. If left untreated, the body can reabsorb the fluid over a few weeks to several months. However, in order to decrease the risk of infection, I prefer to drain it with a syringe. Also, by doing this the skin can heal properly. Seroma formation can be prevented by consistently wearing post-op compression garments and receiving manual lymphatic drainage massages frequently for at least 6 months.   

This includes a lymphatic massage with seroma release.
